I agree with ordering online instead of the reps with all the upsell BS does make me question his real intention. I do have to say I did like his other books though so I will stay positive with this one until I know otherwise!!
I have not yet received the book and I am already having problems with the company that distributes the materials. I originally ordered the book along with one of Kevin’s CD’s (Fast Track to Free Money). The current offer is to receive an additional book for free if the buyer pays shipping and handling of $11.95. (The debate as to why the shipping and handling cost is over inflated has been discussed on several sites.) I received an E-mail receipt listing that I had agreed to an additional book at the $11.95 cost of shipping. It also listed that I was to receive a second CD the same as the first for an additional $19.95. In total, I was billed $93.75 for the order which initially should have cost me $59.85. I called the Customer Service number listed on the receipt and was told that I could not cancel the order as it had already been shipped. After several days, numerous calls to customer service representatives and their supervisors, I was given a $10.00 credit for the shipping and handling of the second book and a return authorization for the second CD (for which I will be required to pay the shipping.) POTENTIAL BUYERS BEWARE!! If Kevin wishes to sell any of his other publications to me, he will have to market them through a different distributor! The true secret to building wealth and becoming debt free: Contract a company like this one to distribute your book. I’m sure Kevin received a portion of my deceptive transaction.
My daughter order the book and CD which came to a total of $101.75. When the order arrived in Oct. I asked her to send it, because I only wanted the book. She called the company and the person said, to send the package back without opening it. The package was returned but I have never received a credit amount on my credit card, plus now I have been charge $9.95 - for what!!!
I got the book 4 business days after ordering the book, read the first 5 chapters that same day and then called both of my credit card companies and lowered my interest rates to the tune of 2400 dollars well worth the $41.90 I spent for the book. The info in the book is good and if you are teachable you will benefit from what this guy has to say. So stop crying
I also agree with a few others once I called to place my order, it was over kill with the all the extras. I only wanted one book! They offered me a free book, and a CD “25 Secrets to Wealth Creation”. No price was quoted. I thought it was a bonus with the book, and I was only paying shipping/handling. I believe by law you are to disclose the price over the phone if one is involved, I knew the book was $29.95, and I believed the disc was included. Also, your shipping & handling is outrageous. Don’t you know of flat rate priority mail.
So far I am not impressed with the repetition of the credit card information in the book, it is nothing we have not heard over and over. I was hoping for a book of knowledge that would give me some new help with credit card grant info. Most people do not want to help when it come to cards with cash advances and that is my situation. At this point, I am most likely going to take advantage of the 30 day return policy, who needs two disc. I was not informed they they were going to be $39.90 on my account. Full disclose, Mr. Trudeau, I believe you need to teach your telemarketers the law. Good Morning America and other television stations that helped promote your book will not be happy to know what is going on with the sale of this book. They pride themselves on promoting quality products and not people trying to sell you everything but the kitchen sink when you call to order. Especially when they do not disclose full price. Please send me a return label for a return shipping. I believe you have mislead me by not disclosing the price of the CDs. The price is excessive and I would now have ordered one let alone two if they were not included in the book. I can notify my credit card company, however, I trust you will do take the right action on your part. Thank you, Mrs. Andresen
I have admired and used your books on “Natural cures” so was in the frame of mind to trust and order this book on “Debt Cures” - until I heard the outrageous shipping/handling amount, and the experiences of others posted with enormous charges enacted. That puts this offer in the same category as the ones you claim to be able to “fix” for us. WHY are you allowing such a practice? It reduces your credibility tremendously…and my trust in your word. Very disappointing! It looked so good and hopeful!
I watched you on television last night I was impressed with your enthusiasium for helping those of us with credit problems. I am interested in lowering my interest rates and a grant for government money. I will tell you I’ve tried books before but they are not to the point enough I don’t have the time to read a encyclopedia.
Just give me numbers and e-mail addresses and I am pretty intellegent I can do the rest. The shipping and handling is always outrageous with everything I’m only concerned about the material in the book and I hope it is right to the point.
Can you help me Suzanne
I have to agree with most of these posted comments. I saw the infomercial and decided to order the book. I finally told the person on the phone that unless what she is also trying to sell me is included for free do not bother and yet she continued to try to sell me. Very frustrated and the ridiculous shipping and handling fees….to make matters worse, I did not wish to pay an additional $9 for “rush shipping”. I found it ironic that for someone who wishes to help people get out of debt….he sure is making it difficult to believe it. I am seriously thinking that I will cancel my order and if they cause me any problems….I will dispute the charge on my credit card. I have to say that overall I am very leary about this, especially after reading the other reviews!
He talks about getting $10-30K from the government. Has anyone called the numbers he’s provided to try to get this money. Is this information accurate? This is the only reason why I want to order the book.
I listen to the CD at least 3 times. I was able to go to bed and really rest up for before reading the book then I started to read the book From the Front to the end of the book. I followed the directions by reading all the material in it I did not even skip around.
I went to the site was listed in the book and every one so far I pulled up there was a charge for delivery and due to past experience if the site dose not say secure you don’t give your information out.
Just Very short story I lost my wife mothers day of 1997. My parents moved in August of 1997 I took care my father till august of 2004 with out insurance and No will and still trying to care for my mother which she’s disabled in a chair. My van died with no chance of recovery. Went to get a used vehicle and a week later I lost my job. So not only I debt to pay before now I have a car that with no job I don’t know how I going to pay for it when I saw this advertisement and ordered it Thinking I finally will be able to get her out of debt and my self.
Just To let you know I am going to keep my hopes up that this year would be my year to leave everything in the past for debts and move on with a new look in life
I ALSO GOT THE WINDED VERSION. EVERYTIME I SAID NO TO SOMETHING ANOTHER OFFER WAS MADE. HAS ANYONE READ ANYTHING ON THE GRANT MONEY AVAILABLE TO PAY BILLS????
I bought the book for my dad in October. He didn’t really like the book. Stated it really didn’t go into detail on how to eliminate your debt. So he ask me to return the book. So I called to get the restocking number and address to send the book. I mailed the book back in November. It is now January and I still have not received a refund for the book. When I call the customer service. They tell me that they have not received the book. I think the just don’t want to refund my money. But I’m not going to give up.
I saw this guy n TV last night. Most of what was said was the same sentence just reworded or rephrased. I know for a fact the everything he says can be found on the internet. Just out of curiosity this morning I type the name “Debt Cure” into my browser and found this. I haven’t read the book and after reading most of these post, I have no desire in ordering it. I already know about most of what he’s said. I’ve had a run in with a debt collector that sent a phony junction claiming that owed this company a certain amount of money they had no proof of, but I had proof that I didn’t.
A phony junction alone is an FTC(Federal Trade Commission) Violation and the person it was sent to can collect $1,000. from the collector. I filed a complaint with the FTC and I suggest that everyone that felt they where scammed do the same, it’s free…..https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01
You can learn most of what you need to know on the FTC website….http://www.ftc.gov/index.shtml

WOW I’m glad that I didn’t go through with ordering the book. Especially after reading all of the negative reviews. I was so close to ordering it to, but not now.
I ordered this book online with no problems at all. I received the book within a couple of weeks and read it in 2 days. It is true that some of the information is stuff I already knew, but it had a lot of good info also. I decided I am not going to hide from collection calls anymore and start taking his advice. I also ordered his 25 secrets to wealth creation on CD which had some good advice and he recommends other self help books to read from other authors.
I believe this book was worth the money.
We ordered by phone the infomercial said the book was 29.95, BUT WAIT if you order right now we will throw in the 2cds; fast track to free money and debt kit for free, as well as the CD 25 secrets to wealth. Well $95.00 later we’re still trying to find the FREE Grant Money. And yes everything he tells you we already know about, I’m not sure what to think about Kevin Trudeau but his customer service reps are terrible we will not be recommending his book to anyone and definitely won’t buy anything else he endorses.
I was just wondering if the book tells you anything about how to get money (from the government) to pay off your Dr. bills?
You guys are the biggest crooks. Last December I was going to order your book but didn’t have enough room on my charge card so I cancelled the order. Four weeks later I recieved the book and returned it unopened. You still charged my credit card and then on this month’s bill charged another $9.95 for what? Where is the credit for something that I never should have been charged for in the first place let alone another charge for Lord knows what. Let’s see you print this in your reviews.
I also called after watching him one late night to order his book. I didn’t like the sell, sell, sell attitude of the phone reps but they’re just doing their jobs, and I fell for the offers so $141.00 (including the $9.95 rush s&h fee) later I still have not received my shipment. I was told the package would be mailed out 4-7 days I called back on the 7th day and was told no it’s 5-8 business days, then called again and was told they send it out from the warehouse in 4-7 days but the post office takes an additional 7-10 business days to delivery it. Now after getting online and reading all these negative reviews I am so angry at what I’ve gotten myself into.
Hello David-
Thank you for your comments. You might want to direct them to Kevin Trudeau at the actual Debt Cures website. This is just a review site of his book.

I saw the infomercial on the TV this morning and wanted to research it before I spent the money. Good thing I did. I also researched the claim of “free govt. money” and this is what I found…please read on….
“Anyone with a problem with money eventually reaches a point where any solution that seems promising is worth a look. Advertisers frequently suggest that you can get out of debt by making use of free government grants. Is this on the level? Is Uncle Sam really giving away money that you can use to pay your bills?
There is a lot of strange stuff on television late at night, and if you stay up long enough and do it often enough, you will see just about everything. One topic that comes up in advertising frequently is the offer to sell you information about free government grants. These grants, the advertisers tell you, are money that the Federal government is giving away. That’s right, they say, it’s free money that is there for the taking by anyone who knows how to get it. In fact, they say, the amount of money that the government gives away each year is nearly half a trillion dollars! The advertisement then points out that you can use the money for any purpose at all, including debt consolidation. Is Uncle Sam really giving away money to help you pay your bills?
Free money always has a nice ring to it, and if you can use that money to consolidate your debt, so much the better. What’s the story?
There is a shred of truth to the story; the Federal government does give money away in the form of grants. That part is true, and the product that the commercial offers to sell to you will certainly tell you how to go about obtaining some of that money. Unfortunately, the truth pretty much ends there. What the ads do not tell you is that the money is earmarked for specific purposes and is given away to people who wish to use it for the purposes intended. For example, if you have a way to irrigate the desert in order to make previously unusable land capable of being farmed, there might be some grant money for you. Ditto if you want to open a special school to help mentally handicapped Native American children. There are literally thousands of ways to obtain grant money. Again, each of these agencies that gives away money is doing so in order to meet a certain goal. They do not have money to give to you to purchase a new home, a Corvette or to fund your vacation home in Tahiti. They also do not have any money to help you pay or consolidate your debt.
The grants are real; there is money for those who have a legitimate use for it. The companies running the ads will sell you a book that will tell you how to apply for grant money. It isn’t easy to do so; the application process is complicated and competition for the limited funds available is fierce. On the other hand, the money is free. That’s right, free. By definition, a grant is a gift. That being the case, the term “free government grant” is sort of redundant. Of course it’s free.
If you are really interested in finding out more about Federal government grant programs,, you can even get that information for free. You don’t have to stay up late for that commercial; you can simply go to the Website set up for that very purpose at http://www.grants.gov. Just don’t expect to see information there about how you can consolidate your debt. For that, you are on your own.”
I was interested in the book and for $29 seemed OK. but, I got the 5 different offers to “upgrade”. After turning most of the down except for the “Letters CD”. Then they told me delivery was 5-8 weeks but I could get 5-9 days for and UP CHARGE. I told them everyone delivers ground in 5-9 days, so why the shady upcharge to put it in a box in a few days rather than 5-8 weeks. I told them the “ransom” to pay and additional 9 dollars for ground delivery ON TOP of the 11 dollars sounded very shady. I canceled my order immediately on the phone figuring I could find the book elsewhere. The book may be good but I am very weary after the over aggressive up selling and the extra delivery charge to get it in a normal delivery time.
I wish I had this book several years ago, it did have some good info. I was a little disappointed with the sales pitches when I was ordering. The one that upsets me is the newsletter pitch, order 1 year and get a $50 rebate. I asked for Walmart. When I got the rebates, you have to sign them and Send in picture ID to qualify for rebate, and it takes 8-10 weeks to get $50. (Have had many problems with mail in rebates,”got lost”, “Working on validating rebate”, etc. My instincts are shouting IDENITY THEFT. My signature and picture ID, no way. What a waste of $50.
I really thought Kevin had something new to say in this new book. Because I got so much information for his natural cures book, I trusted his name and bought the book. I read nothing new in the book that I hadn’t read in other books. Bottom line is the bills have to be paid. I am upset, however that my contact informaiton has been passed along to Robert Allen and who knows how many others. I received an email from Kevin’s company inviting me to come to the Robert Allen seminar on debit relief and wealth building but that was after the 30 phone calls in less than 30 days. So not appreciated. I recommend transforming debt into wealth program by John Cummuta. By the way - for those who want to complain about shipping and credits, the customer service link on the debitcures website did not work when I visited thd site.
OKAY… EVERYBODY needs to LISTEN UP. If you are all complaining due to being scammed of YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY and overwhelmed by MORE sales pitches during the ordering of this book “Debt Cures” via the Infomercial, then it’s obvious you are already in debt or you just want that free govt money. HELLO if you are already in debt, why the hell would you call an Infomercial (please pardon me if I’m not spelling this correctly)to get out of debt, knowing that you will be paying the amount on the screen plus the shipping and being scammed into more sales pitches. Doesn’t anyone have patience anymore. The book will be in stores May 2008 for around $25.00 or less. HELLO!!..No shipping, no crappy sales people, no sales pitches, no extra debt. Go in the store, if you want it, buy the book and leave paying only one cost and tax. People need to stop falling for these absolutely ridiculous scams on TV. Kevin Trudeau is absolutely out to make a ton of extra money, via his infomercials. It’s because of inpatient people such as all of you that are complaining about purchasing the book that make Kevin Trudeau a very rich man. HELLO, have you been to Walmart lately? His books are their once again for a flat cost and your local sales tax and THAT’S IT! Next time he promotes a book or if you are a smart reader and see this comment before you order his new book or any other ones in the future, wait until May 2008 or find out when it will be sold at your local bookstore. They will be glad to tell you. The book/books will be sold in stores for $25.00 or less. Now you know for the next time to be patient, do not go through the headaches again. For goodness sakes you are already in debt, what is another few months. You know the answer is, “you are right”. I’m in debt too. I will not go into further debt to purchase the book off the television knowing how much MORE Kevin Trudeau makes off of us all, via shipping and the other sales pitches people always fall for because they sound to good to be true. Come on, think and be smart, and don’t waste another HARD EARNED DOLLAR. May 2008, you can have the book for nearly half off what you would pay by ordering on TV. May isn’t that far away. PATIENCE. Also I have to agree with a previous comment. All the information in the book can be found for free on the internet. It takes ALOT of time to search for it all, but it’s out there. I don’t have alot of time, so I will wait for the book to come out in stores and get the info then, that way it is more convenient to have it all in one short read if you will and that’s it. In the meantime I’m not paying extra just to order a book off the TV when I can save nearly half or more by waiting til May.
for those wondering about the 9.95 charge that is to the newsletter that you agreeded to receive..pay attention to what you are saying yes to. for the person that received two of the “fast track to free money” cds…that is because when they tell you about that then you should be listening..it clearly says that you will be sent one for each book ordered. if you only wanted one you should have opened your mouth and said so. if some of you people would turn down your tvs, stop driving, stop talking to your spouses and kids while you are ordering then you might realize what you are agreeing to. and when the operator offers you the other things they are just doing their jobs…you dont have to take anything else but later when you find out about so and so getting something different with their order dont go whining well i didnt get offered that…hello that would be because you werent willing to let the poor operator do their job.
Hello-
Thank you all for your comments.
Yes, Allison, people do need to pay attention to what they are buying when they call in. But then again, this infomercials are on late at night so maybe everyone is half asleep when they are ordering :o)
Marcy, thank you for your comments. Having to think about debt and not having enough money to pay your bills everyday can make it hard for someone to have patience and wait several more months for Debt Cures to come out in the bookstores.
Yes, the info is available online for free or at your bookstore but not too many people have the time to look it up. So I would pay for someone else to do all the research and then compile it and put it in a nice, easy to read book for me and charge a reasonable amount for their time and effort.
This is why fast food is so popular and why we don’t all cook every meal we eat. We all could cook if we had the time. But it’s faster and easier to buy fast food. Same thing with buying a book like Debt Cures or The Total Money Makeover.
You can buy the book cheaper on eBay without all the upsells:

Sounds like a scam
you all know that in about 3 months you can probably get the book at amazon for about 3.00 or get it free from the library. that is the secret to saving money.
Just one word…Google. If ya’ll have acess to a computer, anytime you have a question about, well, anything….check out the person selling the next miracle , be it religion or whatever. Check out several of the sites it will list and make up your own mind. Here is just one I found:
Kevin Trudeau’s credentials in marketing can’t be denied, but there is some question as to his credentials in matters of nutrition.
During the early 1990s, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Trudeau served nearly two years in prison. In 1990, he pled guilty to larceny in a Cambridge, Massachusetts, state court in connection with $80,000 in worthless checks he had deposited at a bank. The sentencing memorandum said that he had posed as a doctor to increase his credibility with bank officials. In 1991, he pled guilty to credit-card fraud in Boston federal district court. Among his misdeeds in the federal case, he misappropriated for his own use the credit-card numbers of customers of the memory-improvement courses that he offered at the time. (Barrett 2004)
He has even touted a supplement that will help to cure cancer! Buyer beware is still very good advice. Also a good site to verify rumors and half-truths is Snopes.com. Peace out.
I don’t know what book you guys are reading but debt cures is a very powerful, and helpful book. I have shared some of this information with my friends, and they now have a sence of freedom that they had lost because of there debts. What does the man have to do walk on water? His information is good. Stop hating on him. all company try to sell you as much stuff as they can, weither you need it or not. It up to you to speak up and say no, even on the web site, click no, and move on. short, story. one of my friends went to one of these “fix credit” people, to the tune of $500, and her credit was still “jacked up”, With just one of K.T’s “cures” she was able to fix it herself; tell me thats not powerful. Real simple you do the math $500 or $29.
I’m going to call him and ask if he needs a salesperson. Lol
I saw this infomercial and was swayed to buying the book. I had to speed read through all the pages of the same debt stories page after page. If he had just given a few examples and get to the real meaty part, he would not have a book to sell coz there was no mystery to what he said. As far as free money? Good luck. I went to the grant.gov website and you will need a full time job just to look through each category of grants they have. If you are a farmer, a scientist, or perhaps from Kabul, maybe you will get lucky. The grants don’t apply to regular individuals like me saddled with debt. My sister used to say, “when something sounds too good to be true, it is!”
What are those two magic words he talks about? That’s all I want to know. C’mon, if we are going to half to compete in a government backed, price gouging, gasoline pricing, water polluted, interest rate (loan sharking), mortgage scandaling, no health, no retirement, no education, no medical, society, we need to start sticking together. What are Mr. Trudeau’ two magic words he taunts us with in the infomercial?
Hello John-
Thank you for your comments.
The two magic words in Debt Cures are “Identity Theft”
Thanks,
Adam

Before anyone throws there money away to this fool, do a search on Kevin Trudeau and scam and the truth will be told. Also do a search on his criminal record and you will find he has spent time in jail for credit card fraud. That should scare you away from this scam artist. How the american government and the various television stations allow this person to remain in business is beyond me. I think a class action lawsuit against the tv stations that sell advertising time to this jerk might finally put an end to his scams. They say that the USA is the land of opportunity. I didn’t think it meant land of opportunity for the criminals. It’s no wonder so many innocent people find themselves broke when con artists like Kevin Trudeau can prosper.
I would like to know if Kevin Trudeau has any information in his book for College students that have already graduated from College and have a huge college debt. The private loan interest rates are killing my son that had to move back home after college. Most of them are 12%.
I have called and try to get them lowered but, the bank will not lower private college loan interest rates. Consolidation didn’t help much.. all they did was total the interest rate and average it. Which only changed it from 12 % to about 11%.
So he is still $65,000.00 in debit and has $850.00 a month for the next 15 years. Can’t get a good paying job even after a college degree.
I too bought this book about Debt Cures. Some things in it were helpful to me since I didn’t know about them. But, he could have saved lots of time and effort if he would have gotten straight to the point. I could have said all of the important stuff in 20-30 pages, maybe less. I didn’t have the problems with customer service as most of you have had with all the extra’s. But I do think the shipping is way too high. I work night shift and looked up the website about grants for everything. I do not recall seeing anything that would help with everyday living expenses, dr’s and hospital bills or credit card bills, ect… I am a single parent with two children who went back to college to get a degree and worked full time to pay everyday expenses. Where was this grant money then? I did get assistance for college since I was a single parent with children, but it barely covered the cost of tuition and books. Get real Kevin and tell us where to get these grants, only this time I want facts and not stories of other people because we all have stories!
I thanks everyone for saving me to buy this book..
i do agree with ” Marcy ” and Gina she is right the only way you get grant is is if you are farmer or sceintist or from kabul… ( example) like ‘Aimee said …. ( For example, if you have a way to irrigate the desert in order to make previously unusable land capable of being farmed, there might be some grant money for you.
Friend of my he’s from other country he told whathe’s planing getting free monye and made this plan geting grant from GOV ..how he did it … he told he said he has community of hispeople that don’t know about any info about health like cacer daibtus and aids all type disease a so he told them that he wil be making documentary will picture and vidoes to edacuted them he got TEN THOUSAND dollors his budget was under $2000
those thinks you get grant if you come up with idea that will helps in long wrong …….
Folow to Marcy’s post on 20 - Feb - 08 , the book is available at Amazon.com for pre-order:

Hello everyone, thank you for posting all your honest thoughts and opinions, i’ve had enough and i will certainly not buy the book.
I guess most things really are to good to be true. Thank you very for posting all the good nuggets of truth though. Greatly appreciated
Alexander
I wish I had read all the comments as I would not have purchased the book. I feel he is doing the thing to the American people he says the credit card companies are doing. After I purchased the book and you see all the things he is wanting you to purchase extra and you thought you were getting some of those as a bonus. I tried to cancel by order but you couldn’t go back so I will have to receive it and send it back. Kevin Trudeau is becoming obscenely wealthy just like the credit card companies and banks. He has made his fortune off of trying to tell people how bad they are but he seems to have stumped to their level. I agree $12 dollars shipping and handling is too much to pay but making money is the name of his game.
Why did all the complaining stop after the book was released in stores??? I think all of the posts complaining about the ordering process and should be removed. If you order ANYTHING from ANY infomercial you get the hardcore cross-sell tactics. Even Ticketmaster does the same thing. It is your fault for agreeing to the extras. Just tell them NO! and to quit asking or you will hang up. It seems as though, in the quest for info on this book too many people have skewed the reviews to the negative by complaining about a process that is contracted out to a 3rd party, and most reviews have nothing to do with the content of the book. It never ceases to amaze me how many people have such a “Bandwagon” and litigious (for those of you who don’t know…looking for someone to blame =) mentality. Blame yourself for not being cautious and not having the self-control to say No and only order what you called for. Why do you think grocery stores sell so much gum? Are there any sites that give fair reviews to the content of the book?
This guy is an opportunist. he has been kicked out of 2 MLMs that I know about. He is a multi-millionaire on other peoples backs in the guise of being a regular guy. i give him alot of credit. I heard him speak at a amway thing years ago and he has a good talk.
Thanks for the truth about the book, and Mr. Traudeu, I thought he looked familiar.

The government is broke too - why would they give anyone money to bail someone out of debt when they are in debt themselves.
Hello Anne-
Thank you for your comment. Yes, the government is trillions of dollars in debt. Lucky for them, they can just print more.
Thanks again.
Have a great day!

It hard to trust anyone anymore.
I reported him to the FTC. Maybe all of us could start a class action law suit.
